Cowboys will release Dontari Poe, Daryl Worley if team can't trade them

With the NFL's trade deadline less than a week away, the Dallas Cowboys are trying to find deals to ship out Dontari Poe and Daryl Worley. And according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, if they can't find trade partners by the end of the day, they will release the two rather than keep them on the roster for the rest of the season.

Both Poe and Worley were signed by Dallas during the offseason in the hopes of boosting the Cowboys defense, but that has not played out as planned, with the team currently giving up over 400 yards and nearly 35 points per game almost halfway through the season. 

Jerry Jones expressed his frustration with the Cowboys season so far during a recent interview and after apologizing for telling a local radio host to "shut up and let me answer", he said there be "personnel changes" on defense. The team has already made one move by shipping Everson Griffen to the Detroit Lions. and now it looks like Poe and Worley's time in Dallas is quickly coming to an end.

The big question is if the Cowboys will be able to find anyone willing to give up a draft pick for either of these players, who have under-performed this season. Worley may be easier to trade given his contract, as he is set to become a free agent after the season and is only owed $3 million for the year. Poe could prove to be more difficult, as his two-year, $8.5 million contract may scare teams away.
