Final Buffalo Bills mock draft: Bills take multiple receivers after trading up
Danny Wild-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Draft is this Thursday, and thank the lord because If I hear the words "Mock draft" one more time, I'm going to launch myself into the sun.

Anyway, all eyes will be on the Buffalo Bills and what they decide to do with the No. 28 pick. Will they stay put or move up for a receiver? Here is how I see things going down in what is thankfully my last mock draft of the 2024 draft season.

Round 1, Pick 20 (projected trade with Steelers): WR Brian Thomas Jr, LSU

If the Bills don't make a massive trade for a star receiver, moving up for one in the draft is the next best move. The Steelers are a prime team to call at No. 20, as they'll look to take care of receiver, center, and tackle within the first 100 picks in the draft. Buffalo sends picks 28, and 60 to the Steelers in exchange for picks 20 and 84. They take Brian Thomas, who will step in and be the Bills' top receiver.

Round 3, Pick 84: WR Jamari Thrash, Louisville

Buffalo still needs a second perimeter threat, which is where Thrash comes in. He is one of the most polished route-runners in this draft class, and would give the Bills a very deep group of receivers.

Round 4, Pick 128: CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr, Louisville

The Bills lost several depth pieces in the secondary this offseason. They released Tre'Davious White and Dane Jackson left in free agency, signing with the Carolina Panthers. Brownlee could compete with Kaiir Elam to be the No. 3 cornerback on the roster.

Round 4, Pick 129 (projected trade with Vikings): DT Mekhi Wingo, LSU

The Bills send two of their three fifth-round picks (144 and 160) to the Vikings to move back into the fourth round and take Wingo. They lost Tim Settle and Poona Ford in free agency. They brought in Austin Johnson and Casey Toohill to try and add depth, but they need someone who they can mold for the future, which Wingo can be.

Round 4, Pick 133: S Malik Mustapha, Wake Forest

Buffalo doesn't have much depth at safety. Jordan Poyer is now in Miami, as is Siran Neal. The Bills brought in Mike Edwards and re-signed Taylor Rapp, but they need pieces behind them. Mustapha is a great box safety who can provide help against the run, as well as drop back deep in coverage.

Round 5, Pick 163: LB JD Bertrand, Notre Dame

Buffalo saw both Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard miss time with injury last year, Milano missing almost the entire year after going down in London against the Jaguars. While they added Nicholas Morrow, they lost Tyrel Dodson to the Seahawks. Bertrand would be a fine addition in the fifth round.

Round 6, Pick 200: RB Dylan Laube, New Hampshire

The Bills would be a perfect landing spot for Laube. He had 745 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground, and also added 68 catches and 708 yards through the air. A dual-threat back like that will fit in perfectly with what Joe Brady does offensively.

Round 6, Pick 204: QB Joe Milton, Tennessee

Eh, why not? It would be very fun to watch Milton and Allen together during training camp just launching balls to Venus. Buffalo would be one of the best fits for Milton, considering his style of play matches that of Allen.

Round 7, Pick 248: C Drake Nugent, Michigan

Nugent was one of the most consistent and reliable centers in the nation last season. The Bills have both Spencer McGovern and Will Clapp on the roster, but their depth at guard is thin. If they wanted to convert Nugent to guard, that would be a path to pursue.
