Kirk Cousins Reveals Atlanta Falcons is His 'Final Stop'
Brad Rempel, USA TODAY Sports

All offseason, the future of Kirk Cousins was the hottest topic for what felt like forever and with so many teams needing veteran quarterback help, the list for his services was long.

The Minnesota Vikings didn't seem like a viable option, given that Justin Jefferson was also looking to get paid top-of-the-market money. Then the Atlanta Falcons popped up as an option, and before we knew it, Kirk had signed on the dotted line.

After beginning his career in Washington, then moving to the Vikings and now the Falcons, Cousins has revealed that he wants Atlanta to be his final NFL stop.

"I want this to be my final stop," Cousins said on The Big Podcast with Shaquille O'Neal. "I don't want to do the deal -- no offense -- but I don't want to go play for the Suns and Celtics at the end. I want to go finish with the Heat, if you will, and be done, you know? So, that's really my plan is that I wouldn't play for another team -- I'd finish with the Falcons."

Cousins is coming off an Achilles injury and is in the latter stages of his career at 35. The number of NFL seasons he has left is unknown, but one can easily envision Kirk finishing his career in Atlanta.

Of course, things don't always go according to plan, and how Cousins' first season with the Falcons goes will tell us a lot about what his future looks like.

Coming off an Achilles injury is tough for most, but considering Cousins' age, it makes it that little bit tougher.

Now with the Falcons, Kirk wants this to be his final NFL stop, and it remains to be seen if he will get his wish.
