Latavius Murray Reveals 'Family' Side of Bills
Gregory Fisher-USA TODAY Sports

Veteran running back Latavius Murray signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills to try and help the team compete for a Super Bowl. The 33-year-old has played nine seasons in the NFL and has spent time with five different teams. He's seen plenty in his career.

However, despite having seen so much, Buffalo stands out to Murray when it comes to the culture and family-like environment within the organization.

"I think that it's truly a family here in a sense … more so than any other team I've been across or played for," Murray said. "Like I remember training camp the first day, just walking in the locker room and it was our first team meeting, but just seeing everybody greet each other in a way of like, 'Hey, good to see you, how've you been? How's the offseason?'"

Over a month ago, Murray made his goals with the Bills and his motivation for joining the team clear.

“The only goal is to go out here and compete for a championship and do everything I can to make that happen,” Murray told The Buffalo News

Though Murray joined the team with a Super Bowl in sights, being embraced and joining a family atmosphere may have not been in his cards, but is a good bonus.

Murray was signed to the team alongside Damien Harris as both running backs can prove to be valuable with Nyheim Hines is out for the season. While James Cook is going to earn a bulk of the snaps, the other two running backs will be valuable in their own regard.

“We’ve got a great group of running backs,” Murray said. “We have a great locker room, all in all. It’s been great here to get to know everybody."

Joining the Bills, Murray emulates a home feel, but is also playing close to his hometown of Nedrow, N.Y.. That level of comfort along with the love he's already been feeling from the team may allow him to play even better, helping the Bills when needed in a chase for the Lombardi Trophy.
