NFL Free Agency: Titans Make Big Move, Sign 1,000-Yard Receiver Calvin Ridley to 4-Year Deal
USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Titans on Wednesday made one of the biggest splashes in NFL free agency and satisfied one of their biggest offseason priorities, signing wide receiver Calvin Ridley.

AllTitans.com has confirmed that Ridley agreed to terms on a four-year, $92 million contract, with $50 million guaranteed.

Ridley, 29, who moves to Tennessee after a season with AFC South rival Jacksonville, gives the Titans another 1,000-yard receiver to bookend with DeAndre Hopkins. Ridley's presence should mean fewer double teams for Hopkins and more downfield options for second-year quarterback Will Levis.

As it happens, Levis was already a big fan.

"Yeah, he’s definitely an awesome player. I got to see first-hand him torch us a couple of times," Levis had said March 1 on the RG3 and The Ones podcast. "It would be cool to definitely play with him and — who knows? — maybe link up in the offseason, get some balls in the air, and see what we can make happen. But it’s not my decision. I don’t really have any pull."

In his one season with Jacksonville, Ridley had 76 catches for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns. As Levis remembered well, Ridley also totaled more than 100 receiving yards in both games against the Titans.

The addition of Ridley, a priority need for the Titans, possibly tips the scales toward the likelihood that Tennessee takes an offensive tackle such as Joe Alt with the No. 7 overall pick in the April 25-27 NFL Draft.

After three days of NFL free agency, the Titans have signed Ridley, quarterback Mason Rudolph, running back Tony Pollard, center Lloyd Cushenberry, offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles, cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, and linebacker Kenneth Murray.
