NFL Week 11: Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants betting picks, preview

In a week with a few intriguing NFL games, this clearly isn't one of them. Tommy DeVito and the New York Giants will make the short trip south to take on the Washington Commanders in an NFC East battle. Even though this game won't be on the main screen for most football fans, the bets all count the same.

Let's find some winning ones.

Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants betting odds, preview

Spread: Commanders +9.5, Over/under: 37, Moneyline: Commanders -470 | Giants +360

With Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor out of the lineup, the Giants have resorted to rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito for the last few weeks. To be frank, it hasn't gone well.

The Giants are 0-2 in DeVito's two starts and have been outscored, 79-23. The rookie is 31-54 for 260 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions, and he's been sacked 13 times behind this beat-up offensive line. New York's offense is completely inept right now, but it could have some success against a Washington defense that ranks 31st in the NFL in points allowed per game and 28th in yards allowed per play.

On the other side of the ball, Sam Howell is starting to establish himself as a franchise quarterback. The 23-year-old has racked up 1,034 passing yards and eight touchdowns over his last three starts, but the Commanders have lost three of their last four games to fall to 4-6. This is a must-win game if Washington wants to make a late run at the playoffs.

Commanders vs. Giants betting picks

Giants +9.5 (-115 FanDuel)

No one's champing at the bit to put their hard-earned money on the Giants right now, but this spread is simply too high. Washington's four wins this season have come by an average of 4.25 points, and it hasn't won a game by more than eight.

The Commanders managed just 273 total yards and seven points against the Giants a few weeks ago, and now they're expected to win by double digits? No way. If DeVito is going to have any success moving the ball this season, it's going to come this week against a bottom-tier defense.

Tommy DeVito over 160.5 passing yards (-114 FD)

This is one of the lowest passing props you'll ever see in the NFL, so we're taking the contrarian angle and rolling with the over.

The Commanders rank 29th in passing yards allowed per game, 28th in yards allowed per pass attempt and 25th in opponent passer rating. This is a terrible secondary. If Taylor can throw for 279 yards against Washington, DeVito can get to at least 161.
