Packers' Rashan Gary still supporting his teammates despite season-ending injury

The Green Bay Packers lost star pass-rusher Rashan Gary when he tore his ACL this past weekend in a terrible loss to the Detroit Lions.

Now at 3-6 and riding a five-game losing streak, the Packers could sure use a player of Gary's ilk, but they'll, unfortunately, be without him for at least the rest of this season. That clearly makes an already-terrible season even worse for the Packers, but that apparently hasn't stopped Gary from stepping up and being there for his teammates.

You heard that right. In his time of need, he's out here supporting his teammates.

This is according to reporter Wes Hodkiewicz, who was interviewing Packers rookie pass-rusher Kingsley Enagbare. The young pass-rusher told Hodkiewicz that Gary was going up to his outside linebacker teammates and telling him that he'll be there for them and do whatever they need.

"I’m like, ‘Dang, it’s supposed to be reversed.’ That just goes to show what kind of man and what kind of teammate he is," Enagbare said.

Gary's injury is heartbreaking for the Packers as they try to somehow turn this pathetic season around, but it's also bad timing for him personally.

Green Bay drafted Gary with the 12th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and although he started his career slow as a backup behind Za'Darius Smith and Preston Smith — he's slowly but surely become one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL.

Unfortunately for him, his injury comes with him on the verge of a true breakout year. He had snagged six sacks so far this season before going down in the second half against Detroit.
