Rams trade WR Robert Woods to Titans for 2023 sixth-round pick

The Titans have their Julio Jones replacement.

Tennessee traded for Robert Woods on Saturday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Titans are sending back a 2023 sixth-round pick.

Once healthy, Woods will step in and provide an immediate 1B threat alongside 1A AJ Brown. If Woods can return to the level he was at before tearing his ACL late last season, he and Brown will form one of the top receiver duos in the entire NFL.

Woods became expendable in Los Angeles after the team signed Allen Robinson to a three-year deal earlier this week. Their receiving corps now includes Robinson, Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson, and they hope to re-sign Odell Beckham Jr. as well.

The Titans now gain a versatile vertical threat who they hope can recover well from what was believed to be a clean tear of the ACL. Woods suffered the injury in practice before the Rams' Week 10 game against the 49ers. Prior to the injury, he had caught 45 passes for 556 yards and four touchdowns over nine games.

Woods' career began in 2013 after he was selected 41st overall by the Bills out of USC. He racked up 2,451 yards and 12 touchdowns over four seasons in Buffalo before signing with the Rams in free agency.

Over five years with the Rams, Woods logged 4,626 yards with 23 touchdowns. He didn't play in this past season's Super Bowl, but still got a ring after his teammates defeated the Bengals 23-20.
