Report: Mitch Trubisky agrees to terms with Buffalo Bills

Mitch Trubisky has agreed to terms with the Buffalo Bills, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. It will be his second stint with the organization.

Trubisky was cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers in February, which gave him time to find his new team before the beginning of free agency. It was a decision made after the two parties met to discuss his future in Pittsburgh.

Rumors swirled throughout social media on Wednesday that talks between Trubisky and the Bills were ramping up. Hours later, Garafolo reports the move as being a “done deal.”

He ultimately spent the last two seasons with the Steelers, splitting time with quarterback Kenny Pickett over the last two seasons. He previously served as Josh Allen‘s backup in Buffalo in 2021. He ultimately contributed 1,884 passing yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions to the Steelers over 12 games played across his two seasons with the franchise.

With 12,536 passing yards under his belt to go with 72 touchdowns compared to 48 interceptions on a 64.1% completion percentage, the former North Carolina Tar Heel is a proven backup and can rise to the occasion if his number is called. 

He’s also a 1,000-yard career rusher, having put together 1,173 yards and 13 additional touchdowns since joining the league. A massive chunk of that total is thanks to him compiling 421 rushing yards during his Pro Bowl season. 

His last game in black and yellow came on Dec. 16 during a 30-13 loss against the Indianapolis Colts. Trubisky finished the game completing 16-of-23 passes for 169 yards while throwing one touchdown and two interceptions.
