The relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift has caught the attention of many, and Kelce isn’t sure how he’s dating the music superstar. On the New Heights podcast, Kelce joked that he wasn’t sure how he got Swift to date him.

“I don’t know how I did it because she was not into sports,” Kelce said. “So I don’t know how the f**k I did it.”

This was in response to a conversation Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, had with rapper and actor Lil Dicky (Dave Burd). Jason Kelce talked about how their audience includes many Swift fans, which then led to Burd sharing his thoughts on the fascination of the relationship.

“I just think there’s something that makes everyone feel like the world is kind of like high school, where your most popular pop star, like, beloved musician somehow met, like, your most popular beloved athlete, and they actually fell in love and it’s real,” Burd said. “I dunno, I think anyone who hates on it is a bitter loser. But I think a lot of people who [you] would maybe expect to hate on it actually love it and acknowledge they love it because there’s just something so American about it or something. There’s something just classic about it.”

Travis Kelce is living his best life with Taylor Swift

Burd also asked the Kelce brothers how they are doing amid the added attention they have received over the last few months. “I’m having a blast in life, baby,” Travis Kelce said. “Just flying high. Enjoying it all. Bringing new lives to the football world. Opening the football world up to new things, as well.”

Kelce may not know how the relationship started, but Swift revealed to Time Magazine last year that the Kansas City Chiefs’ public call-out grabbed her attention.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she said. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
