Where does the AFC North rank among NFL's 'strongest' divisions?

The AFC North is one of the toughest divisions in the NFL but where exactly does it rank among the rest of the league?

According to Pro Football Focus, the AFC North ranks as the No. 1 strongest division in the NFL heading into 2023.

It begins with the Bengals who have made the AFC title game in back-to-back seasons. QB Joe Burrow has led the way, finishing with the NFL's highest PFF passing grade in the regular season and playoffs last year (91.0).

Then come the Ravens and the highest-paid quarterback in the league in Lamar Jackson.

"With a revamped group of wide receivers featuring Odell Beckham Jr. and first-round draft pick Zay Flowers, they will expect to contend with the Bengals for the division crown," PFF writes.

The Browns and Steelers follow with big question marks at quarterback. However, both teams could easily contend for the division title in 2023 as well.

"Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns earned the highest PFF pass-rushing grade in the NFL last season (93.5), but they will need quarterback Deshaun Watson to produce better," PFF adds.

Kenny Pickett also showed promise at the end of last year, but all eyes will be on him in year two to see if he will take the leap or have a sophomore slump.

The AFC West and NFC East round out the top three on PFF's list but no other division seems to be as tight. It may just come down to the final week of the season to determine the kings of the AFC North.
