SAINT PAUL, Minn. -- One of the Minnesota Wild's top recent draft choices, Jason Zucker, is ready to make the jump straight from college hockey to the NHL. Zucker, 20, signed an entry-level contract on Tuesday and will join the Wild on Wednesday, just four days after his Denver University team lost in the first-round of the NCAA tournament. Zucker had 22 goals and 24 assists in 38 games as a sophomore for the Pioneers. His 22 goals ranked second in the WCHA and 13th in the NCAA. He also was the Team USA captain at the 2012 World Junior Championship and had 23 goals and 22 assists in 40 games during his WCHA Freshman of the Year season at Denver. Zucker, selected in the second round (No. 59 overall) of the 2010 NHL draft, is one of two U.S. players to win three gold medals in one calendar year.
