Joshua Zirkzee is at the top of AC Milan’s wish list heading into the summer transfer window, and a report has detailed how the management have a plan to win the race to land him.

According to what is being reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Geoffrey Moncada and the team working on the mercato have put Zirkzee at the top of their list of preferences as they plan to invest in a new centre-forward.

The Bologna star, who has exploded this season under the guidance of Thiago Motta (also in the crosshairs of the Rossoneri who will soon have to choose Stefano Pioli’s replacement), is admired for his potential, his physical and technical qualities and his knowledge of Italian football.

However, seeing Zirkzee in a red and black shirt will not be easy, especially due to the sheer amount of competition – both from clubs in Italy and abroad – which could further increase the asking price.

Milan are ready for the fight because they are aware that they will have to make a significant investment in attack and therefore will do everything they can to get their number one target, who is valued at at least €40m.

The plan is rather simple: a good part of this money will come from the sales of Charles De Ketelaere and Alexis Saelemaekers to Atalanta and Bologna respectively.

Both are on loan with an option to buy and the feeling is that both the Bergamo club and the Emilian side are willing to exercise that option, bringing in around €23m and €12m respectively for the Belgian playmaker and winger.
