AC Milan and Juventus are often mentioned in connection with transfer targets, and that is expected to remain the case heading into the summer transfer window.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, the Coppa Italia would bring a trophy and some silver lining to a difficult season for Juventus but it would not change director Cristiano Giuntoli’s plans in view of the summer.

He knows that a lot of work is needed on the squad in order to turn it into a Scudetto target given the over 20-point gap between the Bianconeri and the champions Inter, but it is work that he wishes to accelerate with a good summer mercato.

The department that will see the most profound changes, both incoming and outgoing, will certainly be the defensive one. Giuntoli’s idea is to sign Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna, plus another central defender and a right-back.

For the latter the chosen target seems to be Tiago Santos of Lille, who is a client of Jorge Mendes and the subject of a €12m verbal offer from Milan as we exclusively revealed earlier in the month.

Wolfsburg’s Maxrece Lacroix is a name on their list for the centre-back position. Juventus are working on a double coup, but they face competition from the Rossoneri for both signings as per the report.
