AC Milan once again failed to show up in yet another big game this season and now Stefano Pioli seems to have reached the end of the road, a report claims.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes, Milan’s season ended last night. The Rossoneri also lost in the return leg against Roma who deservedly secured their place in the semi-finals of the competition, where they will face German champions Bayer Leverkusen.

It is a ‘huge disappointment’ for the Diavolo who are now just fighting for second place in the league, and the derby against Inter is scheduled for Monday which now feels daunting given they would clinch the Scudetto with a win.

Last night at the end of the match the team had a discussion with the fans present in the sold out away sector at the Olimpico, who reminded the players of the importance of Monday’s match given the five derby losses in a row.

With yesterday’s elimination, the paper states that – barring sensational surprises – Pioli has probably now given up his last chance of having a future as head coach of Milan. The coach still has one year left on his contract, but the writing is on the way.
