The representatives of Jonathan David were in Milan last week and, while the two local teams denied meeting with them, Napoli did, more specifically their next sporting director Giovanni Manna. Even though he’s still technically under contract with Juventus, he has already stopped working for the Bianconeri and started doing so for his new team, Tuttomercatoweb relays.

The Partenopei’s top priority is to find a proper Victor Osimhen heir. He could arrive from the same team, Lille. However, the French side isn’t in the mood for discounts even though his contract runs out in 2025.

David asked Napoli for a five-year deal with €3M wages, which is not an issue. He’d accept the destination even without the Champions League. Instead, Les Dogues wanted €35/40M to sell him in January, and even more now, €50M, since he has returned to stellar levels. The Azzurri could be willing to spend up to €35M, so the gap is sizeable.

The Canadian star is also a fallback target for Milan should they fail to bag Joshua Zirkzee. He assessed his future to La Voix Sports (via OneFootball).

“I still have a year left on my contract. Honestly, I’m not thinking about it at all. There were rumors in the past as well. I’m here at Lille and will stay as long as I don’t sign for another team. I don’t know if my agents discussed a renewal. We’ll see at the end of the season. I want to focus on the matches.”
