Inter Milan defenders Benjamin Pavard and Alessandro Bastoni will be rested in tomorrow’s Serie A match against Lecce.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipate that Yann Bisseck and Carlos Augusto will start in defense.

One thing that looks relatively certain is that Stefan de Vrij will start tomorrow’s match.

The Dutchman is the primary option available in terms of the central spot in Inter’s back three. At the moment, Francesco Acerbi is out with an injury.

Therefore, de Vrij will marshal Inter’s back three.

However, alongside the 32-year-old former Lazio defender the Corriere report that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will make some changes.

Benjamin Pavard & Alessandro Bastoni To Be Rested In Lecce Vs Inter Serie A Clash

Defenders Pavard and Bastoni have started in most of Inter’s matches recently.

And according to the Corriere, Inzaghi is mindful of the need not to overuse the pair.

Moreover, in the case of Bastoni, the Italian international is one booking away from suspension. Therefore, the Nerazzurri coach won’t want to risk losing him for next week’s clash with Atalanta.

Accordingly, the Corriere report, Inzaghi will switch things up in the wide positions of the back three.

That means that on the left, Augusto will start. The former Monza wingback is not necessarily a centre-back first and foremost. But he has shown proficiency in the role this season.

Augusto has often switched into the back three in order to allow tactical changes.

And the versatile Brazilian also helped Inter keep a clean sheet against Napoli in a Serie A win in December playing in defense.

And on the right, Pavard will drop out of the team for Germany Under-21 international Bisseck.

Bisseck had started a run of fixtures in December, impressing despite his young age and relative inexperience.
