Dwyane Wade’s Awesome Reaction To Chicago Sky Drafting Kamilla Cardoso, Angel Reese
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

After making a name for themselves in college basketball, both Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese have gone pro when the Chicago Sky selected them in the WNBA Draft. Among those who have lauded the decision is no other than former Miami Heat star and the team’s co-owner Dwyane Wade.

With the seventh pick in the Draft, the Sky selected LSU Tigers’ Angel Reese. The college standout played her first two seasons for Maryland but decided to enter the transfer portal, which took the forward to LSU. From there, Reese won her first title in 2023 after averaging 23.1 points, 16.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.5 blocks in the NCAA Tournament of that same year.

For her part, Kamilla Cardoso was no slouch either during her time in college. Just recently, the center averaged 14.3 points on 55 percent shooting from the field, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. As a result Cardoso led the South Carolina Gamecocks go on an undefeated streak to win this year’s NCAA Tournament.

Her performance in college motivated Chicago to use its third pick on Cardoso in the recent Draft. The two are expected to usher the Sky to a new era of contention in the WNBA.

Former NBA Star Dwyane Wade Over the Moon After Chicago Sky Selected Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese

Once the Draft was done Chicago Sky co-owner expressed his delight when the franchise selected both Reese and Cardoso. In a trio of tweets by Wade on his official X account:

Judging from Wade’s tweets, it looked like the former NBA star is ecstatic with the addition of these two stars. Having Reese’s scoring punch and Cardoso’s presence under the rim will go a long way in making the Sky contenders this season.

The WNBA is set to return on May 14 and Chicago is going to play the Dallas Wings the following day. For sure, both Cardoso and Reese will garner a lot of attention in their first game as pros.
