What should come next for AEW Collision following the departure of CM Punk? 

The 'Real World Champion' was released from AEW last week following a week-long investigation into what transpired backstage at AEW All In. Punk's backstage confrontation with Jack Perry resulted in Punk placing Perry in a chokehold and threatening to quit the company. For a time, it appeared that Punk was not going to compete in the AEW All In main-card opener against ROH World TV Champion Samoa Joe, but ultimately did. 

AEW Collision

Punk's return from his first AEW suspension coincided with the launch of AEW Collision, the promotion's third weekly wrestling show on TV. Collision also meant that Punk was kept far away from The Elite, and others Punk has had issues with, who remained on AEW Dynamite. 

With Punk gone, there are questions about what the future of AEW Collision will look like. During his 83 Weeks Podcast, Eric Bischoff argued that Collision's future should be left in the hands of Bryan Danielson. 

"I would give that Collision show to Bryan, not just be my right-hand man and let him bounce ideas off, give it to him. Say, 'Here you go. Here's your notepad. Here's your computer. Here's a pen. Here's an office. Call me when you got a show ready."

Danielson Behind the Scenes

Shortly before his WWE departure in 2021, the then-Daniel Bryan had begun working with WWE's creative team and was said to be well-received by those behind the scenes. Danielson has also been equally helpful in AEW, with the June 2023 'Championship Night' edition of AEW Rampage being a Danielson concept
