LA Knight aiming for a WWE title in 2024

LA Knight is aiming to build on his breakout year by winning a championship in 2024. The WWE fan favorite lost to Roman Reigns in a Universal Title match at Crown Jewel in November 2023. He believes that he's capable of winning gold this year, though, regardless of it he needs to add some mid-card belts to his resume before getting another big shot.

During a recent appearance on the "Insight" podcast with Chris Van Vliet, LA Knight revealed why he's so hyper-focused on adding a championship to his name this year.

"I want to be The Guy," LA Knight said. "Whether that means I need to win an Intercontinental Championship or US Championship on the way, I’m about that. I look at the guys who have come before me and they’ve used the Intercontinental Championship or US Title as their way to the top."

LA Knight has quickly climbed the ranks in WWE. His ascension as a true fan favorite will ensure he gets his opportunities to main event cards on Smackdown and his fair share of screen time. Yet, if WWE wants to take him to the next level, putting him in some championship storylines would be a smart call. LA Knight could add legitimacy to a mid-card title or could be an underdog in a match for the Universal Title.

Of course, WWE has him slated to face Roman Reigns as part of a fatal four-way at the Royal Rumble. However, receiving more opportunities to compete for championships in singles matches toward the top of a PLE card would ensure LA Knight's momentum doesn't stagnate.

Oftentimes, in the world of professional wrestling, having a solid fanbase is the primary ingredient to success. LA Knight's current position in that regard should afford him some exciting opportunities throughout the year. WWE has to capitalize on those opportunities to keep building his momentum and ensure they are developing someone who could be their next superstar name.

2023 was the year LA Knight popped. 2024 will be the year he announces that he is here to stay. At least, that's how it will go if he has anything to say about it.
