Paul Heyman Might Have Turned Down WWE Hall Of Fame Induction Without Triple H
WWE

The 2024 WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony is Friday and Paul Heyman reveals he accepted the induction because of Triple H running the event.

This insight into his near-non-induction comes to us courtesy of Fightful.

“Perhaps, this is the most profound reason, this is the first year that Triple H, Paul Levesque, has chosen the entire class of the whole thing and one of my life’s great honors has been witnessing the work that Paul Levesque has done as the chief creative officer in WWE.”

”It would be a terrible disservice to Paul Levesque. It would be a grotesque demonstration of disrespect to Paul Levesque if I were to have turned that down. Out of respect and admiration for the job that he’s done and for the man himself, I’m honored to be inducted this year. Plus, it’s in Philly. Plus, it’s WrestleMania 40, and plus, for once, it gives me something that shuts my damn kids up.”

Heyman will go in, of course…

This will be the second consecutive Hall of Fame where someone being inducted is a very active on-air talent. It is, of course, a little bit different this time around. It is unusual for Superstars to be inducted while active. Previously, we’d seen talent retire, be honored and then return (Sting, Goldberg and Edge all come to mind). But Paul Heyman is a different personality entirely.

While he is a New Yorker, he clearly has a soft spot for Philadelphia. ECW helped revive his career, as well as many others. You knew Heyman was a walking future inductee, and only two cities would make sense for his honor. With the big event in Philly this year, it made sense.

It’s a bit unique. He is heavily involved in one of the most dominant story lines we’ve seen in recent memory. However, his work as the Wise Man alongside Roman Reigns and the Bloodline will provide an interesting sidebar to his deserved nomination.

All while knowing he very nearly declined the honor. But, we will get to see Paul Heyman inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame because Triple H is that good.
