Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up: Trinity Wins The Knockouts Championship, Owen Hart Cup Finals, Zayda Steel Interview

Deonna works the arm more and then hits a suplex for a cover. After another cover attempt, Deonna delivers chops in the corner before trapping Trinity in the center of the ring by stretching the spine. Trinity gets back to her feet and hits a couple clotheslines followed by a Samoan Drop. They trade roll ups before Trinity kicks her in the head. Deonna catches Trinity mid takedown with a piledriver, nearfall. 

Deonna knees Trinity and then applies the Fujiwara Armbar. After getting out, Trinity hits a faceplant followed by the split legged moonsault for a nearfall. They go to the apron where Deonna kicks Trinity in the gut and lands Queen’s Gambit. Back inside, Deonna covers for a close one. They go up top where Trinity busts Deonna into the Starstruck submission. Trinity tightens it on the full body and Deonna gives up.

Elsewhere on the Slammiversary card, Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly defeated The Coven (KiLynn King & Taylor Wilde) to become the new Knockouts Tag Team Champions. During the pre-show, Jody Threat and The Death Dollz (Jessicka & Courtney Rush) defeated Gisele Shaw, Savannah Evans, and Jai Vidal in a six-person tag team match.

After three rounds of stiff competition, the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament has officially come to an end. Heading into Saturday’s episode of Collision, it was down to the final two competitors: Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale.

On last Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Soho defeated Skye Blue to advance to the tournament finals. On Friday’s episode of Rampage, Willow Nightingale defeated Athena to punch her ticket to the finals. With their semi-final victories, Nightingale and Ruby Soho were then penciled in to face off in the finals of the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament on Collision.

For Soho, this marked her second appearance in the finals of the tournament. Last year, Soho lost to Britt Baker. This time, Soho aimed to reverse her fate. Willow Nightingale wasn’t going down without a fight though.

Despite Soho’s repeated efforts to ink Nightingale with spray paint, Nightingale persevered, landing a powerbomb to secure the win. Nightingale was later awarded the Owen Hart Cup alongside the men’s tournament winner, Ricky Starks.

Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville have clutched championship gold.

Prior to their title defense on WWE RAW last night, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez went face-to-face with Rhea Ripley backstage. Unfortunately, though, Ripley met them with some physicality. After head-butting Morgan, Ripley turned her attention to Rodriguez. In the midst of their brawl, Ripley kicked Rodriguez in the knee, causing her to buckle to the ground.

Despite being cleared to complete later on, the damage had already been done to Rodriguez’s knee. After Green and Deville neutralized Rodriguez and her damaged knee, Green delivered not one, not two, but three Unprettiers to Morgan. Morgan kicked out of the first two but failed to raise her shoulder on Green’s third pinfall attempt. On the heels of their victory, Green and Deville were then crowned as the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

With this win, both Green and Deville earned their first championships in WWE.
