WWE has locked down a trademark for TLC (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs).

On November 2nd, WWE filed to trademark the term "TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs" under clothing purposes with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Here is the description:

“Clothing, namely, tops, shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies; outerwear, namely, coats; bottoms, pants, shorts, underwear, dresses, pajamas, lingerie, clothing ties, scarves, gloves, swimwear; Halloween and masquerade costumes; footwear, namely, shoes, sneakers, slippers, flip flops, boots; headwear, namely, hats, caps; wrist bands; bandanas; championship trophy belts.”

The match originated around the tag teams of The Dudley Boyz, The Hardy Boyz, and Edge and Christian with the first bout taking place at SummerSlam in 2000. WWE later turned it into a standalone pay-per-view event in 2009.

WWE held this event through 2020 when the company decided to nix the show in favor of the WWE Day 1 PPV event on January 1, 2022 with it technically being counted as the December pay-per-view as WWE wanted to have 12 PPV events per year.

As previously reported, WWE has nixed the Day 1 show in January 2023 with the idea of moving away from doing gimmick-themed shows.
